Our interest lies in the study of beetle diversity in Mexico, particularly in the central-southern region of the country. One of our main lines of work focuses on species inventory studies of beetles, where we gather data on species richness, abundance, temporal and spatial distribution. Another line of research involves the revision of Neotropical genera within the Staphylinidae family, aiming to describe and name new species, develop identification keys, as well as propose phylogenetic hypotheses.

| Service Social Data: | Creation of a scientific collection of the order Coleoptera (Insecta) at the Faculta de Estudios Superiores Iztacala UNAM. Registration code: 2020-12/63-4. Objectives: i. To create a collection of beetles from the central-southern region of Mexico that serves as a reference for conducting taxonomic, biogeographic, and ecological studies. ii. To disseminate the collection’s holdings through a website. Activities: cataloging, identification, mounting, labeling, and photography of specimens. Additionally, organizing a database of associated literature, updating, and designing the collection’s website. |
