We carry out research on bone physiology in animal models of obesity, type 2 diabetes mellitus, and periodontitis. Osteopathy is a complication of type 2 diabetes that causes skeletal fragility, we studied the immunological mechanisms that underlie this complication. We studied the effect of biomechanical stimulation on the muscle and bone of mice with type 2 diabetes as a treatment for bone fragility. Micro ct analyzes, bone biomechanical properties, flow cytometry for the study of cell populations of bone marrow and intestine, immunohistochemistry, detection of antibodies and cytokines by ELISA and Western blot are performed.
