Research lines per researcher:Limnology; Aquatic Allelopathy; Ecology, Ecotoxicology, and Taxonomy of Zooplankton (Rotifera, Cladocera, Copepoda, Ostracoda); Axolotl, Anostraca.

Limnological studies provide the opportunity to understand the trophic state of a freshwater ecosystem. The study of flora and fauna, along with physicochemical variables of different water bodies, is essential for both basic and applied limnology.

I have published approximately 250 papers in Web of Science (WoS) indexed journals. All published papers are periodically updated at the following link: https://orcid.org/0000-0003-2820-1579.

Entry profile of potential thesis students:The laboratory does not restrict any students. Students at all levels (Undergraduate, Master’s, Ph.D., and Postdoctoral) have been conducting their research/thesis work in my laboratory for the past 25 years.

The assessment of heavy metal and pesticide contamination from discharges requires the use of bioassays to measure the impacts on zooplankton organisms. Currently, assessments are regulated solely through physical and chemical analyses, which are unable to measure biological effects.
