Research Lines on Mucosal Immunity and Vaccines:

  1. Conducts research aimed at elucidating the cellular mechanism of the immunopotentiating activity of the protoxin Cry1Ac from Bacillus thuringiensis, a non-toxic protein for vertebrates that is immunogenic at mucosal and systemic levels, has adjuvant properties, and provides immunoprotection in various infection models.
  2. Research in the field of vaccines focuses on the design of multi-epitope vaccines, particularly for HIV and breast cancer, and in general, the search for vaccination strategies to optimize mucosal immune induction.
  3. Design of vaccines based on the presentation of epitopes in chimeric VLPs of human parvovirus B19. Development of vaccines for breast cancer, HIV, and SARS-CoV-2.
