Research Lines on Mucosal Immunity and Vaccines:
- Conducts research aimed at elucidating the cellular mechanism of the immunopotentiating activity of the protoxin Cry1Ac from Bacillus thuringiensis, a non-toxic protein for vertebrates that is immunogenic at mucosal and systemic levels, has adjuvant properties, and provides immunoprotection in various infection models.
- Research in the field of vaccines focuses on the design of multi-epitope vaccines, particularly for HIV and breast cancer, and in general, the search for vaccination strategies to optimize mucosal immune induction.
- Design of vaccines based on the presentation of epitopes in chimeric VLPs of human parvovirus B19. Development of vaccines for breast cancer, HIV, and SARS-CoV-2.
